OTHER CAMPS 

5 and 6-year-olds may register for any of our other camp programs.  Normally, we ask that they come mornings only.  We allow 4-year-olds from June 8 - June 26 in the TenniStar program at Bethesda Sport & Health.

Create-a-Star Camp returns in the summer 2010 to MD

Mitch Henkin is bringing back this exciting new program for another great summer.  It is designed for young girls, ages 4-6, with a focus on developing interest and skills in all of the arts.  Campers will participate in acting, dancing, singing, arts and crafts, dress-up, pretending, fun games, and story time.  Campers must be potty-trained.

Meet the Directors

Maia Henkin 

Maia graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School in 2007.  At B-CC, Maia participated in 11 shows and was an AP and IB student. She has taken three years of IB Theatre and has experience as a performer, set designer, dramaturge, and director. Maia was also an active participant in Wake-Up B-CC, a school television show, where she was director of cinematography. Maia has participated in several community theatre productions and has studied Jazz dance and Advanced Hip Hop. At B-CC, she received a certificate of recognition for Outstanding Performance in the Theatre Arts, the Outstanding Performer Award, was a member of Music Honor Society, and received first place in Dramatic Interpretation of Literary Prose in a county-wide forensics competition.  Maia is currently a rising sophomore at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. At Rhodes, she is a member of Rhodes Singers and has participated in several theatrical productions.

Caroline Heaney

Caroline, a Silver Spring native, graduated in 2007 from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and is currently a rising sophomore at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. She has played piano since the age of eight and has singing experience as well. At B-CC, she took a mix of AP and IB classes and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was an active member of the music department, participating in chamber and concert choirs, jazz ensemble, music honor society, and lead keyboard in the pit orchestra for several highly acclaimed productions. She won the Director’s Award for chorus in 2007. At Colgate, Caroline plans to pursue a major in either English or history with a music minor. She is continuing her passion for music at Colgate as a pianist for the chamber players, a selective auditioned group that performs chamber music for the school and the community.

Lizzy Styles

Lizzy is completing her third year at Jacksonville University where she plans to get her bachelors in Fine Arts. Lizzy has been interested in the arts from an early age, and her work has been displayed in local shows and newspapers.  She has taken college level courses ranging from clay building to painting and has also studied watercolor and graphic design. In the fall of 2006, Lizzy spent four months in Florence, Italy, working and learning from local artists.  Aside from her time in Italy, Lizzy has lived in five other countries and three states, where she has been given the opportunity to be exposed to many different cultures. She has spent the past seven summers working at children’s camps, including the non-profit Tri-Cities Work Camps as well as TenniStar in Annandale. She is passionate about the arts and working with children.
